Gracie

A donation was made in memory of Gracie on Nov 06, 2012.

Gracie was born in July 1998 in Kentucky. Her owner died and she was placed in the Boston Terrier Rescue. The moderator of the rescue site knew I took dogs with disabilities, and offered her to me, as she had a problem with her pancreas. My friend was attending a seminar in Atlanta, and flew Gracie up to meet me in Seattle. She joined my other two Bostons, Jazzie and Bear. Gracie loved to run at the beach, play with other dogs at the dog park, and was especially fond of tummy rubs. She took many trips with me, and loved visiting with my dad in Arizona. She had a lot of ailments, and she lost an eye to a cat. She had a cataract on her other eye, and after a skirmish with a chihuahua that we were fostering, she had a stroke while under anesthetic as she was getting stitched up. She didn't let that get her down, though and lived on for 2 years after that.

I would like to give her veterinarian, Nancy Williams and also her eye specialist, Teri McCullough credit for helping her live such a long and happy life. They both took special interest in her, and were there for her in all of her health crises. We were blessed with their loving care.

It is with great sadness that I had to say goodbye to this sweet, loving furbaby, but I hope she has found her way to the Rainbow Bridge, there to play with Jazzie, Bear, and all our other dogs who have preceded her until it's my turn to go.
