Tho’ you have left me now,
I wish I could have known
A better way to care for you,
A way to keep you warm.
I saw you in the wild
On those cold and wintery days
And hoped to me you would come in
And let me give you praise.
For such a strong and brave little kitty
In the cold, harsh world outside.
So little and so mild
I wanted your abide
To keep you here with me.
I tried to give my home to you
And feed you with much care
Although my effort was in despair,
I cannot tell you why
But I do hope that you may look again
And find me from the sky.
