Thunder

A donation was made in memory of Thunder by Margaret, Nancy, Jessie, and Ninja on Sep 05, 2023.

We don't know exactly when you were born, but we know you drew your last breath today, gone from us way too soon. The vets tried everything but couldn't stop the aggressive autoimmune attack that would have left you needing a feeding tube even if you had survived.

When you drew your last breath today, you were surrounded by your two Norwegian Buhund sisters and your two heartbroken humans.

The shelter thought you were 10, your loving foster mom and your vets thought much younger - and we do know exactly when you joined our pack last November and that you brought joy to us every day.

We kept your name your foster mom gave you: Thunder! Such a great name for such a brave 10.5-pound Schipperke. We had never had a blind dog before and you taught us that being visually impaired doesn't interfere with a thirst for adventure and a love of learning.

New environment? Never fazed you. Not even flying at our feet to LA where you fit in perfectly with all the stars.

You loved your weekly swims with your sisters - you learned quickly - in fact, you had your best swim just 4 days ago.

You did Lick Art at the Old Dog Haven Summer Splash fundraiser - not many dogs leave art for their loved ones, but you did.

And how you loved the car! I don't know how we will ever do errands again without you.

We were your forever home - we wish forever was longer.

Comments: Margaret, Nancy, Jesse, and Ninja, Thunder was not in your lives for long, but what an impact he made on you and all of us! We were always impressed with his thirst for adventure! We know he was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. In our hearts, we know Edgar, Dharma, and Viney greeted him at the end of the Rainbow Bridge. Love, Lynette, Jean and Lily

Comments: He was such a sweet boy! Someone once said that the meanest thing God ever did was to give dogs such a short lifespan, and it's true. Thunder was gone way too soon, but he had a wonderful home once he was adopted and joined your family. Take good care, all of you, and rest assured that you will see Thunder again down the road.
