Joe

A donation was made in memory of Joe by Drs. Kathryn, Gary, and Edward Haigh at Haigh Veterinary Hospital on Aug 24, 2016.

My Mister Man. My love muffin. My sweet baby. We adopted Joe from a shelter in Mesa, Arizona. He had been living on the street and weighed 4.5 lbs (he was up to his normal weight of 11 lbs in no time!). Immediately he fit right in and took over. We had two other dogs that were five times his size and he claimed them as his own. He owned us. We were his. He loved walks through the neighborhood, rides in the car, afternoon naps on the couch. He loved everything bad for him – our pet hospital knew him well. We loved his funny little ways – we always said that we liked his “style.” He made us laugh, he made us mad, and at the end, he made us cry. We had him for three wonderful years. He was only 4 ½ when he got sick. One day he had a squinty left eye – who would have guessed that just a few months later he would be gone from brain cancer? We tried everything. We desperately wanted him to live and we probably kept him alive longer than we should have. We are still devastated. We miss him every day.
