Wally first came into our family as a puppy, in December, 2002 when he was only ten weeks old. Wally was a wire-haired mini dachshund, and joined the pack of Charlie, a short-haired dachshund, when he came into our family of four: Tandy, Susan, and two children, aged 9 (Matt) and 14 (Lizzy).
Susan was the librarian at a private grade school, and Wally went with her everyday. He had the sweetest disposition, and would allow each kindergartener to give him a belly rub during story time.
Wally was an affectionate and goofy companion to our family through the years. He was a terrible guard dog, since he loved everyone! The children graduated from high school, and went off to college and careers, but Wally continued to hold down the home front. He welcomed them back at holidays, happy to greet them.
