I adopted Shane in 2002 from our local shelter since someone called me to tell me they had the perfect dog for me. I had 3 cats at that time and needed a dog who could blend into that setting. Shane was a shy dog who had been abandoned and found running on a country road..women would throw food to him and I knew that when I met him he would be shy and distant.
I took him home and gave him a lot of space to adjust to my small home. He was well mannered and quiet. He loved listening to me play piano and found his favorite place to be near the hallway and refrigerator where he spent much time relaxing.
Shane had all the qualities we would want in a best friend...Patience, humility, and faithfulness which he always showed toward me and my son and grandson and all the friends who entered my home.
