Gimli, you came into our life unexpectedly in 2009. You barely filled my hand, you were so small, and I had no idea if you would survive your wounds, but you were strong even as a tiny pup. You were the sweetest tea-cup Chihuahua we had ever come across. You had a way about you which made it easy for everyone to love and you brought joy to our life with all of that special-ness that you embodied. Being with us was all you wanted, well that and food, treats and your blanket, of course. My plan was to keep you alive until you were 20, but your musculoskeletal system and kidneys made that goal impossible. I know you would have kept going longer just to be with us which made our decision to let you go that much harder to make. Your suffering is now over. I expect you are in the laps of all the wonderful people who made it to heaven before you did, eating all the popcorn, pears and peanut butter you desire and prancing around like you did before your limbs wouldn’t let you. Miss you greatly, our dear little Gimmie!
