One unexpected day, my sister-in-law brought a very active, adorable white kitten to us. She discovered that she was going to have a baby and was overwhelmed at the thought of this young over-active kitten. My three kids were delighted! I knew right away that this curious little specter was a perfect fit the moment he ran across the room and up our curtains. The movie, The Incredibles, had just come out, my son (3 years old at the time) chose the name Dash as he chased our new critter around the house. Dash had a way of speaking to us, he let us know when he needed to go outside when he needed a drink (he would only drink out of a faucet), and when he wanted to cuddle. He would pat us in the face with is paw, meow and rub against us to get our attention. We all loved him, he was very much a part of our family. We all came together the day he was taken from us. My husband, me, my oldest daughter and her baby, my middle daughter, and my son (on FaceTime from North Dakota). We cried together, took turns holding him, and said goodbye. We were all together when he entered our lives and we were all together when he left us. This cat brought us together and bound us with unforgettable memories for the past 15 years. He will be very much missed.
