A donation was made in memory of Susie Derkins by
Doctors and Staff of the Skyline Animal Hospital on
Aug 23, 2013.
Our grey-and-white cat Susie Derkins came to us in 1999 as a ‘left behind’ kitten, to join our then-one-year-old yellow Maine coon, Hobbes. They were the best of friends right from the start, with Hobbes especially taking good care of Susie as shown in the photo. Hobbes was king of the house and well aware of it. He would greet visitors and enjoyed the great outdoors, including leaping to catch moths in our backyard. After her early feral experiences, Susie was quite content to stay in the house. Hobbes died in his sleep in the summer of 2011 at nearly 13 years of age. Susie developed health problems and started to fade away in the spring of 2013; she died in July at almost 14 years old.
We appreciate the tender, personal care both cats received from Skyline Animal Hospital in Idaho Falls throughout the years. The vet’s donation to WSU’s Pet Memorial Program is a touching tribute to our close animal companions. Thank you.
