Evalyn and Finnoula came into my life 7 years ago, at the insistence from one student that we have classroom pets. It was one of the best decisions of my life. They were sisters and best friends. They were beloved by myself, my family, and my students and created such a wonderful atmosphere in the classroom.

When they weren’t at school, I enjoyed having them at home where they provided such great companionship. For something so small, they had such a big presence.

No matter where they were, they would join in a chorus of “wheeks” during their daily breakfast and dinner. They both had a particular passion for red bell peppers.

I never thought I could love or miss something so small so much. I will be forever grateful for the love they brought into my life.
