Bugsy

A donation was made in memory of Bugsy by Doctors and Staff of the Green Lake Animal Hospital on Feb 02, 2012.

We had 15 fantastic years filled with love, joy and laughter. Bugsy brought a smile to everyone with his endearing charm, making him quite unforgettable. He was a tough little guy who loved to curl up and cuddle on a warm lap. Some of his favorite past times were running on the beach, playing with his friends, camping, and snoring like a truck driver. But most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his mamas who spoiled him rotten. His life began in sunny California where he spent most of his time at the beach watching his mamas surf. He even tried it once, but sunk like a rock. Later in life he moved to Seattle, where he enjoyed walks around Green Lake, hiking, and being perched in his car seat during road trips. It's difficult to imagine life without him, but every time we think about him, we smile because we know he's on his second adventure running playfully on a warm beach with his friends on the other side.

Comments: I remember 15 years ago when Carrie first told me that she got a black pug and named him Bugsy. I laughed and laughed because I thought the name was so suitable for him. He was the cutest little man completely full of himself and so confident. Through out the years I have seen Bugsy grow from an adolescent to an adultand to a senior. As an adolescent he always seemed bigger than his size implied and this is I'm sure because he saw himself the same way. He was a fiercely independant little dude who played hard and then at the end of the day slept hard snoring like a trucker. As Bugsy got older I got to know him better when I became roommates with Carrie in Seattle. This little guy was still independant but oh what a lover he was. He was constantly vying for my attention late at night when I got home from work, competing with his arch nemesis Bodi my cocker spaniel. If I sat down it was an immediate invitation for him to jump in my lap, turn 3 times and then make himself comfortable. If Bodi even came close it was war. As the years flew by Bugsy soon became part of a small tribe that included Bodi and Bubba our lab. We would all go on walks around greenlake making up a slow moving motley crew. He was becoming a little less independant and seemed to have eyes for only his mama's Carrie and Heather. It seems like his love for them was the driving force that kept him staying around at the end. My heart broke when I heard his time had come but I know that he is leaving us richer and full of hilarious memories that still keep us laughing. Even as I write this now I constantly switch from tears to smiling at the funny memories. I still can't believe he is gone and I miss him terribly. It is comforting to know that he lived a long life with Mama's Sheri, Carrie, and Heather who loved him dearly. He was the luckiest pug I ever met.
