Louie

A donation was made in memory of Louie by the doctors and staff at Desert Veterinary Clinic on Jul 28, 2022.

We adopted Louie at 8mo old, as his military family was moving to Guam. When we went to meet him, he greeted us at the door with excitement, but not by barking or jumping on our legs, instead he exuded an amazing sense of peacefulness. He earned the nickname Sweet Lou, and quickly gained a lot of friends and admirers. People always asked us about Louie, as his personality was hard to forget. He only barked when he was dreaming, and even then, it was a sweet and light "woof." He came to us at just the right time in our lives. During a particularly hard trial, he sensed the sadness, and with great care, slowly offered his paw upon my wife's hand to comfort her. He lived long enough to help us welcome a little baby into our home, and while I'm sure he would have loved to do so, he never touched one of her toys. I'm not certain God gives animals souls, but I do know he gives them character. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Louie had them all. We like to think that we will one day see our sweet Louie again.
