Wilbur and I met on June 26, 2010, our Gotcha Day. He was at a rescue in Prosser, where he'd been surrendered after being neglected by his previous owner. He was 5 years old. It was love at first sight for me, and I brought him home to Seattle, where we were inseparable until the day he crossed the Rainbow Bridge: July 5, 2018. It has been the hardest time of my life to let him go and say goodbye, even though he was ready, and sick, and tired. I'm not sure if I have loved anyone the way I loved him. Eight years of memories are not enough, but they are wonderful.
