Duke The Ledgen Von Hoffermiller Wolfgang. DOB 11/19/2010 DOD 8/09/2022 I flew Duke to Spokane from Phoenix AZ. He was 18 months old. When I picked him up at the airport, he was so thin and full of ticks. He was frightened and so malnourished. I sat on his crate and hand fed him. It took a while but gained his trust. I could tell he had been starved and beaten. I started taking him to training classes within days. We continued for the first year 1/2 Duke was a wonderful guard dog and after a few years began trusting other people. He was the father of 4 litters. two were mine and two were a friend. Duke took care of the puppies like I have only seen wolves do. He was so well liked. He liked staying aloof. His favorite toy was a large jolly ball. He loved playing catch and brought it back for more play. He loved his mate Nadja. She was only 6 months old when Duke arrived. I miss my big guy so much. I pray the hurt goes away.
