Peaches was a miniature apricot Poodle. When I first saw her she was sleeping in the breeder’s shirt pocket. Even when she was older, she loved to put her nose into your pants pocket. She was so tiny when we first got her that I didn’t realize that they had cut her tail off. She didn’t need a tail to wag, she would wiggle her whole bottom when she saw you. Although she was only two pounds when we got her, she loved to eat; Peaches loved her treats of carrots and lettuce. She was very smart and understood us and she made sure we understood her. If she wanted a dog treat, she would scratch below where we kept the treat jar and then look up at the dish. We used to tell her we were going to work or to church when we would leave the house so she knew that she couldn’t come with us and we would be back home. She was the best greeter when I would come home from work and was always excited to see family and friends. She gave unconditional love and made us laugh. She loved to go for walks, ride in the car, be at the beach and play with her toys. She was a good snuggler and hogged the bed. I miss her a lot. What gives me comfort is thinking she is with my mom running, playing and giving her lots of kisses.
