My dog Bristol was put to sleep Friday afternoon following an emergency surgery for laryngeal muscle paralysis and brief but severe medical complication. Speaking for both Julie and me, I can't express the grief I am feeling, or what he meant to me. He was all I could ask for in a pet and friend. Every fiber of my body hurts for his absence. The hole in my heart is so deep I can’t believe it will ever be filled. Bristol was my buddy. He was our partner on so many adventures that I can’t begin to count them. I’m sure he thought we were crazy to climb mountains and hike for fun. He was always so excited to run in the snow on our hikes! I will never forget him or his unconditional love for us. Or his fondness for playing fetch for the tennis ball. I love how he would lie on his back on the couch for hours, comfortable as can be. I know that he had a great life. He knew he was loved by us. We did the best we could to make him happy, comfortable and to give him the best life possible. Good-bye my friend.
