Yazzi-11/01/02-10/29/14
Yazzi joined my family when he was just a few weeks old in January 2003. He quickly became a "Momma's boy." Yazzi was at my side for nearly 12 years. When I was blue he knew I need his attention. He would curl up on the bed with me and lay his head near mine. When I was happy he knew it was time to play and run and "talk." When my nephew's joined our family Yazzi knew exactly how to treat them. He was patient and tolerant of the forced hugs, pushes, tugs, body checks, loud noises and much more. He occasionally got a little justice by stealing a pizza crust or two out of their little hands when they were careless at the dinner table. When his obnoxious, high strung, naughty, playful, adorable husky sister Hannah joined our family in early 2004 Yazzi adapted again. Yazzi and Hannah spent 10 1/2 years together. She kept Yazzi young and all of us on our toes! Yazzi, Hannah and I welcomed a new member to our family in early 2010. Greg soon became our best friend. Yazzi took Greg for every treat he could. It didn't take long for Yazzi to win Greg over and become a "Daddy's boy."
Yazzi loved the dog park, loved walks and sniffing and peeing on everything, loved his peace and quiet after family gatherings. He welcomed us home every day speaking (I often felt like he was telling me off) and leading us to the treats which he believed he needed and deserved each and every time anyone walked towards the kitchen.
Yazzi was very healthy until the last six months of his life. We are so grateful for the care he received from all who cared for him over the years leading up to his last days with us. Yazzi received amazing care! We received amazing care as well as we had to make difficult decisions. In the end we were at peace with the care Yazzi was given and the decisions we made with the help of the veterinarians and staff that guided us.
Yazzi was a sensitive, loyal, gentle, stubborn, opinionated, vocal, handsome, energetic, forgiving, loving presence in our home. Yazzi made each day better. He is terribly missed and will be forever remembered. His sister, Hannah, continues to keep us on our toes.
Sonya, Greg, Hannah, Darian, Jayden and Dougie B.
