Everyone thinks their cat is the best and I don't feel any differently. Simon passed unexpectedly this May 2015 and I miss him every day. He was my companion and buddy for almost 17 years.

We met at the pet store that had taken him and his brother in for adoption. I went in one day and had to check out the kittens even though I had two cats at home. After that first encounter, I made sure to use that pet store so I could say hi on a regular basis. I fell in love with his serious mien, the little freckle in his right eye, his beautifully ticked coat and...well...everything about him.

His brother was adopted and as fate would have it, one of my other cats died not long after. Within a short time it was apparent that Simon had to come home to live with me and Max. We became family.

Simon used his paws like hands and used to reach up and touch my face, demanding attention. He was intelligent, sweet and well-mannered. He was my baby, I admit it. I am not a big believer in heaven, but if there is one, we'll meet again wherever that is. Regardless, he brought me love and affection unconditionally. I hope I gave him half of the joy and happiness he gave me. He'll always be in my heart.
