Annie was an extraordinary companion, totally dedicated to her humans, especially me. She had endless patience and boundless affection. In her younger days, she was sort of a naughty runaway. She couldn't resist the temptation to follow her nose and seek out garbage cans with "fresh" contents to explore. She often escaped our yard and always returned. As time went by, she slowed down, but never lost her independent spirit. As an older dog, she had quite a bit of trouble getting around, but that did not prevent her from trying to stay close. She helped me through so many hard times. I miss her terribly and always will.
