Simon

Simon was my closet boyfriend, he constantly hid in my closet. Anyone new to our house would never know he was there. Always dressed up in his tuxedo, ready for a tuna dinner. When we brought him home from the Whitman County Shelter, he hid under the sofa for two weeks. With persistence, I won his heart as he won mine. He slept by my side for 16 years, and served as my back up alarm clock. Breakfast could not be late. He was quick to teach our new dog that he was the boss. His claws were much faster than the dog’s playful lunges toward him. He also loved to show us his speed, by sitting on the back of chairs and taking a swipe as we walked by. As he got older he finally gave up on trying to get our parakeet, trying to sneak outside, where he would hide under the porch until we got him safely back in the house, and insisting that every can I opened must be tuna, and he must have some. Of course that required that I let him sniff every can for proof. You were a dear friend my Simon kitty. Play hard, fish well, and find a nice warm woodstove to curl up by at the end of the day. Kay G.
