Chance was our beautiful tricolor Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I had the privilege of first meeting Chance and his human mom Julia when he was only 9 months old. On our second date we took this energetic happy puppy for a walk in the mountains at Calispel Creek Washington near Newport. He immediately caught scent of a wild animal and ran straight up the mountain on a game trail through the coniferous forest and I immediately chased him through and around and under fallen trees trying to keep him safe. Twenty minutes later I emerged all scratched up from the thick trees and handed Julia's precious fur baby to her.
This was the beginning of our love and many adventures with our beloved Chance throughout the next eleven and half years. Chance was a BIG DOG TRAPPED IN A SMALL DOGS BODY. We had endless adventures backpacking in the Bob Marshall Wilderness, Hub Lake Montana, hiking Antoine peak, Liberty lake loop trail, Beacon Hill, etc. He enjoyed these hikes year round in rain, sleet, snow or ice. We hiked at least 10,000 miles throughout his short life of 12 years. Chance never complained and always was ready to walk or hike. Chance turned 12 years old on December 25, 2024. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to him on January 6, 2025. We will always miss our best friend and will never forget him and his beautiful brown eyes. Love you Chance forever.
