Lucy came to us as a stray kitten with siblings and a starving mother who had been abandoned by a neighbor when they moved. The other kitties and mom were affectionate and easy to place in new homes. Lucy hissed and bit my hand. But my husband and I still loved her tiny fierceness. Rich named her after his late mom who was sweet and easy-going, hoping our feline namesake would grow into her name...she somewhat did. After a few years of slinking about, she one day decided to just sit on my lap. And the rest was history. Best friends. And I miss her so.
