Simba

A donation was made in memory of Simba by Christie Anderson on Dec 08, 2011.

Simba had a tough start in life. He was severely neglected and given up for dead by his family at 10 years old. The kind veterinarians at Alpine Animal Hospital weren't willing to give up on the weak, skinny boy. He was relinquished by his owners, and with food and TLC, he thrived. I adopted him hale and healthy. In spite of a long list of eventual ailments - including tumors, respiratory problems, heart enlargement and murmurs, occasional seizures, cataracts, age-related deafness, liver cancer and eventually, cachexia - Simba was a loving member of my family. He never knew how sick he was. He started out very shy, but learned to adore attention from all people, including his wonderful doctors at Alpine and WSU Vet Hospital. He had a way of endearing himself to everyone who saw him. He was a courageous and odd little fellow who outlived all practical expectations and, as always, just did things his own way. I'm happy to know Simba had a wonderful final 5 years. His memory will always bring smiles to those of us who knew him.
