Always a source of happiness, Moki was amazingly caring and loving. She would "tuck me in" at night staying with me until she was sure I was sleeping, then slipping off into the house for what ever 'mission' was called to her attention. She would return by morning, as if she had never left. She read books with me, enjoyed my puttering and hobbies, exploring our yard and home together. She gardened with me, and was respected by the birds we fed, they didn't fear her being near and she seemed to enjoy curling up on her favorite pillow on the deck near the feeding station. Her last act as she lay dying next to me was to reach her paw across my arm and rest her head as if to comfort my tears. Of course I could go on and on about the simple happiness she brought to our household. But those onion peeling ninjas have snuck up on me again.....
