We got Shae from a friend of my husband in March 2010, three months after losing my mom. Shae was my constant companion from day one. His favorite activities were running, hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, swimming, and fetching his frisbee, sticks, and tennis balls. He could perform about 15 tricks, including flicking a pile of cookies balanced on his nose into his mouth while "sitting pretty" on his back legs. In his later years he created a Bucket List and we were able to help him cross many of his wishes off his list, including a visit to the Oregon Coast where he got to see the ocean for the first time and run in the sand and waves and chase birds. He also snowshoed with us to a back country yurt for the night. We loved to spoil him with McDonald cheeseburgers and Starbucks pup cups. He outlived all of our other dogs by a long shot. Always the over achiever. Typical Border Collie.
Fly high and run free, Shae. With all the speed, energy, mischief, intelligence, and heart of your perfect little Border Collie self. Thank you for being my bestest boy.
