There’s no such heartbreak as loosing the purest form of unconditional love. I loved my Extra more than anything. To me, she was my baby. For almost 13 years, she had been with me, by my side, shining a light through the darkest moments and rejoicing with me though the happiest ones. When my husband deployed, sometimes for nearly half a year, she slept beside me and made sure I never ever felt alone. Through every sick, depressing, bad day, she provided me with warm soft comfort. Most of all, she filled my life with so much joy from the day she was a small newborn puppy until her sudden unexpected passing. I miss her scent when we snuggled. The rolls that started forming around her already thick fluffy neck. The dorky, happy, excited dance. Her curled fluffy tail. Her honey brown eyes that started to show her age and wisdom. Her captivating little white eyelashes. I miss her terribly. It’s been an incredibly difficult year without her. She’ll always be in my heart, watching over me.
