I adopted Bella over 3 1/2 years ago off of Craigslist. She had epilepsy and her owners did not want to keep her. She fell into a grand mal seizure and ended up spending a week in the hospital 3 months after I got her. The first vet I took her to told me to put her down and she would never come out of it. I transferred her to a specialty vet and she recovered fine. After a couple months of getting her medication right, she never had a seizure again. I am so greatful that she made it through. The next three years Bella was my constant companion and best friend.
Bella was a typical giant breed. She had to be with me at all times. She loved to curl up on the couch next to me and watch tv. She also never spent a night on the floor or in her own bed for that matter. Most mornings I would wake up with Bella in the middle of my bed and me practically falling on the floor. She was a giant goofball. Bella loved to take all of her toys out of her toy box and throw them around the house. Her favorites were monkey stick and giant hedgehog.
My favorite part of the day was walking Bella after work. I live in a very busy area in the heart of the city. I would walk Bella all around and most people we passed would get a giant smile when they saw her. It was really great to see Bella bring so much joy to people. There are no two dogs out there that are the same and I feel very lucky to have found Bella. I was her third home and I pity all the people that gave her away because they missed out big time. She was loving and so sweet. I thank God for the time I had with her.
