Sophie means wisdom. She was an old soul, with big soulful eyes.
She had an exceptionally long tail. When she was a puppy, she would catch it, hold on to it and turn in circles, while going from room to room. When she would wag her tail and wag her body at the same time, her tail would wack herself in her eyes and she would have to squint.
She had the best ears! Sometimes that had a personality all their own, and they reminded me of Scoobydoo.
She loved to tease by bringing you a toy to play with and then pulled it away right when you would go to grab it. She would only do it a few times, because she truly did want to play with you.
Going running together at 5am where we would have the park to ourselves and she could run off leash are cherished memories together. She did hate the sprinklers though and would always give them a wide girth.
We shared a love for everything dairy, especially cheese. We are definitely cheeseheads!
She loved pillows and would rest her head or her front paw on them like a human. She even rested her paws on the arm rests in the car.
One of her favorite toys was her ball & rope toy that she would lasso it around while alternating her weight from her front paws to her back paws, all while simultaneously spinning in circles. She was like a bronco buck.
She absolutely loved playing with other dogs, especially puppies. She played very well with others and knew how to teach good manners.
She would give me a hug everyday after work. She put her paws on my shoulders and lick my face.
She was my best friend and I truly enjoyed spending time with her and taking care of her. My time with her went way too fast. It was such a privilege to be her dog mom. She will be forever in my heart.
