“If LOVE ALONE could have kept you here, you would have LIVED FOREVER”

Such a Gift! We raised Toby from a little puppy. Even though a miniature Schnauzer and (just 13 lbs), he could jump higher than any dog I have ever known. He would jump up over 3 feet high just to see what was on the kitchen counter (to eat!) A consummate shredder of Christmas wrapping paper, he would literally cover the floor with tiny bits of paper (never eating any) after each gift was opened.

His favorite adventure was chasing away seagulls who had the audacity to land on “His” beach on the Washington coast at Iron Springs near Moclips. We are taking his ashes back to spread and throw at the seagulls on “Toby’s Beach” in March. He was 12-1/2 years old when he crossed the Rainbow Bridge due to congestive heart failure. We wish a big “Thank You” to the WSU vets at Chuckanut Valley Veterinary Clinic (especially Dr. Emily Knopf & Dr. Peter Brown) who showed so much compassion in his care.

As a loyal member of a family of WSU Cougars (myself, wife, & daughters, Laurie & Kristen), Toby proudly wore a crimson and gray WSU collar. We miss his smell, his snuggles, and especially his kisses. Right to the end he gave us final goodbye kisses. A teacher and superb example of unconditional love --- we will always miss you our “Little Man”, our “Tobe-ster”, and can’t wait to play tug-of-war again with your favorite toy, “Little Bear”. There is a void in our hearts which you can finally fill when we are blessed to be with you again.

We love You always,

Gary & Carrie Lobdell ’75, ‘78 Mount Vernon, Washington
