Artie was such a sweet boy. He was our first family dog and brought all the love that only a golden retriever could bring. He tended to eat everything he wasn’t supposed to so we were very familiar with our vet. He was literally his own party which is why we called him Artie the Party and Big Art. He never met any person or animal that he didn’t want to give a big kiss to and show them his stuffy. He loved being a big brother to Gus and was so patient with his little brother that he let him sleep on top of him whenever Gus climbed up to snuggle. It was like he knew this was his full brother and he just had to put up with him. He loved when the kids came home from college and he knew he would be sleeping with Abbie again. He loved when Dom held him. He loved waiting in Shawn’s office for nap time and loved when Megan woke him up each morning with a tummy rub. We lost Artie way too early but he brought so much joy to our lives. He never complained or got upset even when he was clearly hurting at the end. He went to sleep surrounded by this family and holding one of his stuffies in his mouth. It was a bittersweet goodbye but we know he made the last 7 years of our lives better for being in it.
