Sweetie Pie
August 18, 1998 – May 31, 2008


I recently had to make the decision
To let my dog “Sweetie Pie” die,
And after almost ten years with her;
It was so hard to say good-bye.

I stayed there with her;
Even after the Doctor said “she’s gone”.
And although my heart was aching;
I knew she would have a better home.

She was so very special,
In so many different ways;
She made sure the big back yard was safe,
And protected me every night and day.

She liked to watch television,
And it seemed she understood every word,
And the last two years she slept beside my bed;
So every strange noise she always heard.

She is now in Doggie Heaven;
United with her Mom and Dad.
I’m sure she knows that she was
The best four-legged friend and companion I ever had.

P.S. Sweetie Pie I love and miss you. Rest in Peace.
