Snookums:
Well to begin with, Snookums did pick her name. The three of us stood in a circle with Snookums in the middle. We were trying to agree on what to name her. We threw out several names – but when my son said “let’s just call her snookums”. At that point Snookums made it very clear that was the name she wanted. Not our first choice, but what can you do? Snookums was a cat that knew what she wanted.
Snookums was as much a family member as she was a pet. She had a “feel” for the mood of the house, and was always there to be a part of it. Be it working in the yard in the spring and summer or putting up Christmas decorations. But one favorite activity was being there to help put the groceries away on shopping day.
Snookums was empathic, smart, aware, kind and gentle. She would comfort you when you were anxious, stressed, angry or unwell. She loved being a part of things. We miss her very much. The attached photo represents the enthusiasm she had and gave to us. She just had a way to brighten up the simplest event or task. It is a blessing to know she continues to help others through this program.
Thank you. Shelly K. and Cliff M.
Also thanks to Drs. Burhenn, King, Golden and Novick and staff at Feline Medical Clinic for their love and care of animals.
