Schatze

A donation was made in memory of Schatze on May 08, 2015.

Tom and I appreciate your kind letter and sympathy at the loss of our beloved German Shepherd, Schatze. Her name means “Treasure” or “Sweetheart” in German. She was indeed our treasure and has left a deep hole in our hearts and home.

I want to take a moment to tell you what a wonderful vet we have in Dr. Kuehn. She will care for our next little one – her name will be “Scarlett”. She took time away from her personal vacation to direct Schatze’s care. While her cancer took her before we realized that was her issue, Dr. Kuehn and her staff did everything to aid in her diagnosis and treatment. While our GSD Monte came to us through another vet and is still being treated for his issues (Pannus and old age), Dr. Dianna has become our friend and trusted care giver. Schatze was 10 years 8 months old when we let her go to her sister, Schoene. Our GSD, Monte, misses her terribly. Dr. Kuehn’s former partner, Olivia Seddon, now at Vet-to-Go in Billings, has always been wonderful to us and is the person responsible for bringing Monte into our lives when his owner was going to put him down if she did not find “the perfect home” for him. That was 2010. We look forward to him being a mentor to our new puppy.

The picture attached to this e-mail is of our Schatze at Christmas, 2014. Her groomer gave her bows for the first time ever! She was almost 10 years old at the time.

Marianne Peck, the breeder of our girls, is a conscientious and loving person who treats her German Shepherds as precious children. Schatze and Schoene (Pretty in German) were from different litters, but the same parents. We lost Schoene to congenital kidney failure at about a year old.

Sue and Tom B.
