Tater

A donation was made in memory of Tater by the Doctors and Staff at Desert Veterinary Clinic on Apr 27, 2018.

Our little Tater Tot was supposed to replace a long time beloved pet of 20 years, Sam-I-Am. Losing Sammy was like losing one of my kids. We'd adopted him at Ft. Knox, Ky. when he was about a year old and my kids were 1 and 3. He was wormy and half feral to start, but was patient with my kids and even protected them from the neighbor's German Shepard! We were grateful to have him so long and he passed away quietly in our arms at home. But we still had mice to hunt, so we adopted little kitten Taters because she had a full set of thumbs (7 digits on each paw!) and looked so much like Sammy. At first she didn't know how to run around because she'd lived most of her 6 months in a cage at the pound with other kittens, but once she learned the house was hers, she was entertaining us all and was not much of a couch potato anymore! To me she was mostly "kitten" but proved to be the excellent "sicario" we needed and I looked forward to another 20 years with her. Unfortunately the FLV took her too soon from us and we had to end her suffering. We are grateful to have given her a non-cage life and to have gotten to love her for her 4 short years. She could climb a tree like nobody's business, had full use of those opposable thumbs, loved to chase nerf darts, had the best manners, and was most beloved. She was a Good Cat.
