Buddy

A donation was made in memory of Buddy by Drs. Kathryn, Gary, and Edward Haigh at Haigh Veterinary Hospital on Jul 24, 2025.

There are a lot of dogs named Buddy in the world, and like all yellow labradors named Buddy, he was special to us. We adopted Buddy from a farm in Hoquiam where he showed up terrified, dusty and with deep brown eyes that held a soulful depth to them.

Buddy remained somewhat timid all his life, we jokingly referred to him as Eeyore as he always had a sad disposition despite his very happy life. He lived on our hobby farm with us where he always had another doggie companion, cats to contend with, ducks and goats. He lived on the water and when the sun came out in the spring – we were hard pressed to keep him out of the water. Buddy enjoyed hiking, family weekends at the ocean, camping and taking up most of our bed at night. Buddy also enjoyed wearing clothes – which was a feat as he was 120 pounds of muscle!

All who met Buddy instantly fell in love with his easy way and mutual respect for space. Our family misses him greatly but knows we will see him again on the other side of the rainbow bridge where we know he is living his life, cancer free, with other beloved family pets who have gone on before him.

Rest easy Buddy, we love you and will see you again.
