“Samba” August 2013-May 2020

Samba joined our family as an 8 week old puppy. He was a quiet young man, but very loyal and connected to us almost immediately. We discovered at a vet visit when he was about 4 years old, that he had hepatitis (probably from birth), and the resultant abnormally small liver. At that time our vet told us he would “probably not grow to be an old man”, but through some regular medications and diet changes, he had a fairly normal life except for occasional “lows” when the affects of his disease would take its toll. All the vets at the Idaho Veterinary Hospital called him the “miracle boy”, because he lived much longer than they had predicted. He was our buddy. Fun, loving, loyal, and always needed to be around us and with people. He loved to “go for a ride” in the car, go for walks with us, and play tug-of-war endlessly. The best buddy ever. We miss him tons!
